Hi all !
Has anybody experienced any issues with the maps in Power Bi ?
Oppened the report in the morning and the map is all blank as if there were no fields and measures added. I first though that maybe is a Power Bi Desktop rendering issue but it is the same even when published.
The same on a different report which I haven't touched. The map just simply stopped displaying any data.
Thank you,
Marian

Bing Maps is down, so that might be the problem.
hello
today in France, again the power bi standard map visual and the choropleth map visual show no value. any news ?
Hi !
I can't see any issues for today here in UK so it could be something local.
Last time the problem was that Bing was down and pretty much everybody had the same situation. I know that the maps had a recent update, and maybe that could cause issues in some area .
Maps are now functioning properly again !😌
Hi guys, glad you've posted.
I'm also facing the same issue currently.
Looking forward to a speedy fix.
Hi @Marian1981 ,
I'm experiencing the same issue.
After the May 2024 update, it seems impossible to create Map and Filled Map visuals: they remain empty (empty visual, only the title is shown).
The option "Use Map and Filled Map visuals" is checked (as has always been the case).
Azure Maps (and other) seem to be working fine.
I hope this is addressed soon because people are waiting for their reports.
David
Hi @ddk !
Yes, there are quite a few of us having the same issue right now.
Hopefuly it will be sorted fast as we all have reports to present.
Cheers !

Quite right @ddk ! I just checked that as well and I believe that is the problem.
I will accept you answer as a solution as you were the first to mention that.
Hopefully they will sort it out fast enough for us tocarry on with our work.
Cheers !
Hi @ddk,
Seems so: Maps.bing.com - Is Bing Maps Down Right Now? (isitdownrightnow.com)
"If maps.bing.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress..."
You rock! 👌
Hi Marian,
We are facing the same problem - the reports with heatmaps are not showing any data in desktop nor in the service. We have tried to change the heatmap vizual to a standard map, but there is still no data (also at the brand new .pbix).
Even the sample .pbix for the heatmap vizual is blank:
We haven't found any notice in Power BI known issues yet: Microsoft Fabric Known Issues
Hope MS provides an update for this issue soon.
Thank you for raising that so we can prove the problem is not only on our side.

Hi @imik !
Thank you for your input.
Like you said, at least now we know that there is a general problem.
It was all good last night, so something must have went wrong over night.
Let's see how it goes and keep eachother notified.
Cheers !
check your regional and global map settings, maybe map permissions reset due to security reasons, or admin might have removesd the map visual display from windows account.
i suggest you create new page and try the new map visual there, and check,
also create new pbix file and check if the map visual is showing data.

Hi @AnalyticPulse !
Thank you for your reply.
I did tried all this steps and nothing seems to work. Even on a different report that I haven't tempered with at all, still has the same issue.
Cheers !
hi @Marian1981
Make sure your column is set to data category like city, state, address etc.
I hope I answered your question!
