Hi Power BI Community!
I am trying to point multiple locations with each of them having a visible radius of n-miles in a map. I was able to get the points in a map based on coordinates, although, the radius part is what I am trying to figure out. I will have some points of locations that radiuses will overlap and would like to show that. The heat map and ArcGIS (the Buffer analysis) do not work in this use case. How can I achieve this?
The picture shows what I am trying to achieve on an example pointing at airports with 50-miles radiuses:
- Chicago, IL - Coordinates: 41.98178205787334, -87.91503267964708
- Milwaukee, WI - Coordinates: 42.94059525651772, -87.90120669277894
David Eldesveld in his 2019 blog post Display Points within a Distance Radius on a Power BI Map
walked through this very scenario, and logic, and provided a working and dynamic solution. One note of interest is that he used Kilometers versus Miles as units of Measure in his measures.
