Manipulate Data

Hey,

So I've gotten a request from a client that wants to manipulate the data used in visualizations in real-time.

I offered him the solution of manipulating the Excel file to which PowerBi is connected. Then he would only need to refresh it once he made the changes he wanted, but he told me he wanted to do that directly in the dashboard, so no Power Query is involved. Basically, transform the dashboard into an Excel sheet so that when he changes a value the measures that are being calculated based on it will also change.

I can't find a way on how to do this. Do you guys have any idea?

We all receive these sorts of requests from time to time.  Let them down gently.  Powerbi is a reporting tool.

You might be able to divert your client with what-if parameters

it kind of depends on what exactly he wants, for example you can use a what-if parameter to adjust values for models. (like what if we adjusted our sales forecast by 5% kind of thing).
