Managing absences per month
need to create another column in the calendar table
Based on your description, I created data to reproduce your scenario. The pbix file is attached in the end.
Hi Ahmedx,
Thanks again for this solution. I do however have a small follow up question if you'd be able to help.
So your solution absolutely helps identify days off per month for this employee. However, say rather than a full days absence, they record half a day - so their absence on 26th August, say it was for 0.5 days rather than a full day. Is there anyway the "days was off for this month" measure could be amended to reflect half or part days?
Thanks again.

Aplogies I never did, but if you take for example row 4 in the table, say the Duration value was equal to 0.5 instead of 1 - how could we then implement that into the "days was off for this month" measure?

if you have a table where there is a date and last name of an employee who worked half a day, then I can divide these days by 2

Hi Ahmedx,
It would still be coming from the same table, have updated it below:
Staff Name Start Date End Date Absence Category Duration
Aaron Anderson 06/06/2022 10/06/2022 Annual Leave 5.00
Aaron Anderson 18/07/2022 22/07/2022 Annual Leave 5.00
Aaron Anderson 12/08/2022 12/08/2022 Annual Leave 1.00
Aaron Anderson 26/08/2022 26/08/2022 Annual Leave 0.50
Aaron Anderson 12/09/2022 09/10/2022 Illness 19.00
Aaron Anderson 30/11/2022 09/12/2022 Annual Leave 8.50
So for row 4 you can see that half a day is used as Annual Leave, and for row 6, 8 and a half days were used as leave.
Would there be a way of referring to this Duration column in the measure?
Thanks,
Aidan
