Hi
I'm using this formula for MTD at the moment, but now that we've rolled over to the 1st of the Feb, its not showing a full MTD value for January up to the 31st. It's been fine up until now, (as a daily report) but this now returns blank today. i should be seeing 1-31st Jan with this..
Any idea what im doing wrong please?
Hi @Anonymous
I guess you may have misunderstood the use of MTD. In TOTALMTD function (DAX), it says the return value is "A scalar value that represents the expression evaluated for the dates in the current month-to-date, given the dates in dates." The current month-to-date means it begins on the first date of the current month and ends with the last date in the specified date column after applying specified filters.
So when you've rolled over to the 1st of the Feb, it calculates the total from 1st Feb instead of from 1st Jan because Jan is its previous month.
If you want to calculate the running total always from 1st Jan, you may consider using TOTALYTD function
