MS CRM & Power BI Desktop - Field Labels
Hello Community!
My customer is using MS CRM 2016 "on Premise". Now they want to use Power BI Desktop.
They are afraid that the field labels (they have changed quite a lot of field labels) shown in Power BI would be the "original system label" - not the labels of the fields they see on their MS CRM forms.
Now two questions here:
a) Is that true? Will they see only the original field labels - not the ones they are using on their forms?
b) If this is the case - is there any way to provide them with the customized field names?

Hi Michel,
Well I understand it now.
What label will the Customers see when using Power BI Desktop depends on which data source he accessed to.
Power BI desktop customization won't affect the labels on the data source side, it will keep the changes locally.
So if a customer loaded the data from the direct data source, then it should be (Street 1);
if the customer loaded the data from the PBIX file which has the field labels changed, then he should see the changed labels.
Let's say one customer 1 opens Power BI desktop, then load data from SQL server database, change the Street table name to Address within Power BI and save the file into a PBIX file;
Then another customer opens Power BI and connect to the same SQL server Database, what he would see here is the Street table;
If he opens Power BI desktop, and load the data from the PBIX file directly from Customer 1, then he would see the changed name- Address.

Could you please explain a bit about the field label here?
I am a little confused about the “original field labels” and ” not the ones they are using on their forms?”.
When data is loaded into Power BI desktop, changing either Data Labels or rename the data in fields won’t affect the data source. And the changes will be kept when uploaded or published to Power BI service.
Also take a look at the Use Power BI with Microsoft Dynamics CRM on-premises.

What I meant is the following:
Customers often change the original field label (e.g. "Street 1") into a - for them - more convenient name such as (e.g. "Address 1").
Now - if a customer uses Power BI - the question is - will he see the original field label "Street 1" or will he see the customized label "Address 1"?
As far as I know - they will always see the original field label (here --> Street 1). But I am not sure. And I am also not sure if Power BI can render the customized field labels (here --> Address 1)...
