Helper IMCQ on PL 300
Minimizes disk space but PL 300 question was based on online processing time and faster calculation. Those thing could be interupted by report complexity, query complexity if not optimized, network etc.

it should use minimum opereation time so direct query is faster than import mode.

For complex reports with many visuals or large datasets, DirectQuery might slow down because it places a load on the source database and network every time you slice, dice, or filter data. This can lead to longer waiting times. Direct Query could introduce unnecessary complexity and resource usage.
Import mode, brings data into Power BI in memory storage. While the initial data loading takes time, once it's there, interaction with the report are much faster because all the data is available locally within power bi. This reduces the load on your source database and can significantly improve report performance.
