i have a question arond live connection. as the measure are in sql syntex and when you use them in Power BI. Power BI stops you from using conditional formatting in charts. Unless i am missing something.
Will bring the measure into Power BI Desktop resolves this issues. and also second question....
can the external data on the main ribbon be switched on if you have a live connection vai SQL or Azure?

For the first issue, based on my test, it could work on my side(I am using ssas with tabular):
Could you please tell me what kind of data source you are using?
For the second issue:
Based on my research, I am afraid you could not switch on the external data, you could vote for this idea:
