Losing groups from desktop when making minor changes in Power Query

Hi Everyone,
I have a PBI file I've been using for a while and now to update it I need to make some changes in Power Query. Trying not to disturb anything I made sure the columns in the final step of the query in Power Query were exactly the same as before (incl. field type etc.).

However, now when I return from Power Query then suddenly all the groups* that I'd applied in desktop have disappeared.
I've gone back and done this carefully step by step, saving and checking, each time keeping the final columsn etc. the time and it seems to work fine, and then suddenly I delete one line that isn't doing anything and the groups are gone.

Does anyone know more about how the groups function works behind the scenes (and ideally why this is causing a problem and how I can fix it)?

Matt

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have read the links you've provided, several times in the past. In this case they're not really possible, nor did I feel they'd would be particularly helpful.

I do think I could have phrased my original question better, so I'll give it another go.

By the way, I don't think it's particularly helpful to add boilerplate responses on to questions so soon after they've been raised. It just reduces visibility for others who might get what is being asked without further clarification. If a question has gone unanswered for a while, fine.
