Losing Connection to Excel 365 sheet

Hi all. I'm having an issue connecting to and staying connected to the Excel document that my dashboard is based on. I was able to access to build, but now cannot reconnect.

I've tried reconnecting by Anonymous, Windows account, Microsoft Account, every option available. Is there something I'm missing?

I also noticed that the shared Excel doc is shared in someone's personal Sharepoint folder. Could this be the main issue? I thought if a doc was shared with you, and with the right permissions, it was available to use, such as when trying to connect to a program like Power BI.

Thank you in advance for your help and for your patience as I am VERY new to Power BI.

  • Cobalt58_9 , When you have used the URL, hop you have removed /:x:/r

In the case of the desktop, From Home-> Transform Data -> Data Source Setting- >Clear permission and use Organization credential and try again

    Also

Go to File-> Options and settings -> Options -> Security Option -> and check : Use My Default browser( Visible after scroll)

if needed, clear the cache of the default browser

Dude that totally worked! Thank you so much!

Any insight into why the /:x/r is the trouble maker here?

Moving forward, would it be wise to NOT have these shared documents in someone's personal drive?
