LookupValue with a not equal to

I am trying to get a DAX variable to get the minimum value similar to the following:

var min_date=LOOKUPVALUE('WIP-ALL'[Period],[Period],"Current", Min('WIP-ALL'[Period]))

But instead of Period=Current we need anything except for "current"

What formula do I need to use to get the minimum value of "Period" in the above statement where Period<>"current.
