Location/Map defaults to USA?
Apologies for the late response I got pulled back to other stuff and had to put my Power BI play/learning on hold.
I'm not able to find this data category setting in either the query editor window or the visualisations window (which at present only shows a map and a pie chart).
The column value for address: = Table.SelectRows(#"Changed Type4", each ([Full Address] = "78 Virginia Rd, Wanganui, New Zealand"))
It is plotted at a Virginia Rd in Conneticut US.
The formatting of the address above is the same as it is for the many others that work and correctly point to locations in the correct city/country
Bit further along now that I have found the black vertical strip on the left of the visualisations screen.
OK so now I see the "Data" icon and I can highlight the column in question and (under the modelling tab) select the data category choices. I have set it to address and the rpoblem remains. If I set it to city and refrseh I have zero plots anywhere on the map.
I'm actually watching (as time allows) a Pluralsight course on PowerBI and the next 2 modules for me to view are modelling and visualisations so the chances are I'll learn the answers to my issues when I've consumed them
