This is a live connection mode, so you couldn't add new data directly. As shown in the screenshot, you can't open query editor.

Community ChampionSo you went into Desktop and chose Get data and then chose Power BI Dataset? Is that correct? If so, this is a live connection to the dataset in the Service. When that dataset refreshes, you will have the new data automagically.

Helper IIThanks Greg_Deckler , but I'm trying to add new data, like an Excel, or data from new databases.
Descktop just allows me to work in report mode, not in data or model,
