Load screen not displaying when mannually refresh data in PowerBI desktop

Hi all,

I tried to mannually refresh data in PowerBI desktop(right click table and choose Refresh data), but today I noticed that the Load screen (as in the screenshop below) displaying the refresh progress didn't pop up.

Did anyone get the same issue? Or is this an update? In my case, I do need to see the progress.

Thanks!

Hi @maojidan ,

In my tests, the loading window shows up fine. (Version: 2.129.1229.0 64-bit (May 2024))

Did the refresh work? Does the data load into the model properly?

What about trying clearing the cache in Option and refreshing?

Hi @v-cgao-msft ,

Thanks for your suggestions and please find my replies as below.

  • My version is:
    • 2.130.754.0 64-bit (June 2024)
  • Even though the Load window didn't pop up, the refresh started in the background without any notice. When the refresh was completed, there wasn't any sign as well, except I can see the data loaded successfully and the last refresh timestamp updated.
  • I cleaned the Cache and restart, sadly the problem still exist.
  • One more update, if I edited any step in the Power Query for a table, the Load window pop up as expected.

Hi @maojidan ,

Thanks to your quick feedback, I will be working on testing the June version of Desktop.
If this issue is affecting your work, please temporarily roll back to the May or April version of Power BI Desktop, which is available for download at the link below.
May 2024 version of Power BI Desktop - 64-bit

April 2024 version of Power BI Desktop - 64-bit
