Load power query connection only file into power BI

Hiya all,

I used PQ to do some extensive clean-up job with a few files, but without realising I closed and loaded as a connection only. So it saved as an excel file with a blank sheet, in which the queries are loaded in the navigation pane.

Now the problem I am facing is that when I am trying to call this into PBI desktop, it is just loading the empty worksheet (which obviously is blank) without the PQ connections which I can see in Excel.

Did I miss the turn on this one is there some salvage method available? A solution to this can really save me a lot of time.

Thanking in advance

As long as you can get the Power Query code back in your Exel file you can copy that code and paste it into a new ("Blank") query in Power BI.

Hi,

In the Excel file, go to Data > Queries and connections  and right click on the Query.  Select "Load to" and check the box of "Add Data to the Data Model".

Hope this helps.
