Live imaging

Hello,

I would like to input an image into my dashboard but I would also like this image to have a direct connection to the website that I'm pulling it from. Such that when the website updates the image, it will update on my dashboard as well. Does anyone know how to do this/is this even feasible?

Thank you for your help!

Hi@Anonymous,

By adding a tile to your dashboard, you can place an image, text box, video, streaming data, or web code on your dashboard.

There are two ways to add images to the dashboard:

  1. If you want to add image to your dashboard, you save the image file online and link to it. Make sure security credentials aren't required to access the image file. In this case, because the image has been saved online, I'm afraid it won't update as you expect.
  2. You can paste or type in any HTML content, as a tile, to your report or dashboard. Enter the embed code manually or copy/paste from sites such as Twitter, YouTube, embed.ly, and so on. We recommend that you use this method.

From the Add tile window, select Web content > Next.

To display a title above the tile, select Display title and subtitle and enter a Title and an optional Subtitle.> Enter the embed code. >Select Apply.

Tips: If you'd like to embed content from a website, but the website doesn't provide embed code to copy and paste, see embed.ly for help with generating the embed code.

Here are some tips for embedding web content, for more information, you can refer to this: Tips for embedding web content

Hope it helps.

I cannot find the "Edit" Button on my dashboard. Where is it located?

Hi@Anonymous,

You need to log in to Power BI Service to do it.

You can see this option by going to a report view or a dashboard view in your workspace like this:

Hope it helps.

Hello, yes you can do that on a dashboard in powerbi service (It will update on refresh):

Edit >>>AddTile>>>Media[Image]>>>Next

then add URL to the URL field

There maybe a separate solution using the AddTil>>>Web Contents>>>EmbedCode but its not one i have used. The first solution i have used with success.

// if this is a solution please mark as such. Kudos always appreciated.
