Hello ... fairly new to PowerBi and I think i have a simple question but can't figure it out. This is a PowerBI report on sales ticket opportunities.
Have a slicer for "Sales Stage" with list selection with choices like Commit, Best Case, Pipeline, and Closed.
Have a separate filter for "Status" of the sales ticket with choices like Additional Info Needed, Hold, In Progress, and Closed Won.
How do I link when I use a slicer for Sales Stage and select "Closed" that it only shows sales tickets that have "Closed Won" as the status?
Thank you in advance! (hopefully I explained that correctly)
Solved! Go to Solution.
So in the table it seems that for Sales Stage = 'Closed' there are multiple 'Status' values.
You are trying to Set slicer value based on another slicer value... is that correct?
If this is the case I dont think it can be achieved in PowerBI

You can do it through the 'Edit Interactions' Button
Say you have 2 slicers.
Select one slicer
Click Format --> Edit Interactions
On the other slicer you will see 2 small icons on the top right.
The icon in red square means that when you select one value from the left slicer then it filters the results to the right slicer.

Thank you. I select the first filter, select Closed, select Format - Edit Interactions, and then in the second filter select Closed won. But it doesn't save. Meaning I want to click once for "Closed" and it automatically selects "Closed Won" in the second filter. I am probably not doing it right .....
Im a bit confused. When you say it doesnt save what do you mean?
Can you also share a file with us?
Also you need to check the data model that you use in PowerBI.
You need to check the relationships between the tables (e.g. one to many etc)
For example, are there cases when you select 'Closed' from one slicer to have multiple values on the other slicer
Sorry ... maybe I am not explaining it correctly.
When I select Closed in the Status slicer I would like PowerBI to automatically select Closed Won in the Status slicer. I tried your instructions but it didn't work - which means I probably did something wrong. Can't send the file as it contains company data.
You should check your model. It seems that for Sales Stage = 'Closed' there are multiple 'Status' values assigned to it.
You need to check the relationships between the tables (e.g. one to many etc)
All data is in one table. No relationships to manage (from what I see).
So in the table it seems that for Sales Stage = 'Closed' there are multiple 'Status' values.
