1) I have two Power BI table visuals, Visual 1: for parent records, Visual 2: for child records.
2) There is a 1:n relationship between the two underlying queries.
3) Above Visual 2 I have a Card holding a title field from the parent table.
4) Ss far the Card acts a a dynamic header so that if the user selected a record in Visual 1, Visual 2 shows its child recs and the Dynamic Header changes to show the currently selected record in Visual 1.
Problem is when the Dashboard is first opened the Dynamic Header dispalys the Title for the first parent record even though the user has not selected any record and in Visual 2 you see all child records.
I want to display blank when there is no Currently selected parent record in Visual 1. How do you do this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
To solve this requirement I had to create a measure (labelled "Header", see below) on the Parent Table to hold the dynamic Header which I placed in a Card visual:
Header = IF(HASONEVALUE(PARENT_TABLE[FIELD_1]),FIRSTNONBLANK(PARENT_TABLE[FIELD_1],NOT ISBLANK(PARENT_TABLE[FIELD_1]))," ")
ISFILTERED didn't work for this requirement as the filtering is based on the user clicking on one of the records on the screen to highlight that record, then child tables are filtered based on the relationship between parent and child.

Hi @Anonymous
Create a measure, for example
Measure = IF(ISFILTERED('Date'[Date]),"filtered"," ")

you have to do this in one or more measures of the child table. use isfiltered or isinscope to have no values when nothing is selected
