Link to open excel file in origin location (not download)

Hi,

I'm looking for opetion to add link to open/update excel file on origin location on server.

The all solutions a saw with file:// works fine but it download the file to local PC. I want the option to open the file in original location in server so users can update the sourse

Any workaround?

As a workaround, you can place the file at a sharepoint and use a button in your report that would point to the sharepoint link.

The button will route the users to the sarepoint link where they can update it.
