Hi, I would like to plot a line graph that can show by year and month on the x-axis just like the picture below.
The date data type that I have is in this format.
Here is the x variables that I use to construct the line graph.
However, the output of the line graph only showing Year.
====================================================
If I remove the date hierachy and left only Month
It shows all the month without seperate into Yeat.
===============================================
My 2 questions are:
1. How to display the line graph by Month and Year.
2. I measure unable to use for line graph? Why?
Solved! Go to Solution.
The trick is select no date hierachy then the month and year will display.
However, I have another problem. I woul like to use the forecasting function in the option tab but I cannot find it and all other function such as trend line, max line, min line and etc are all disble (grey out).
Date data type is in the Axis.
Hi @alvin199 ,
Here is the data I created:
I can display it normally
You can try the following:
1. Change type format of X-Axis, from "Categorical" to "Continuous"
2. Whether the dates on the X-axis are normal dates, because in Power BI, the forecasting feature utilizes built-in predictive forecasting models to automatically detect the step (monthly/weekly/annually) and seasonality in your data to provide forecasting results .If it cannot be correctly identified, it will not render
3. There are some restrictions in the official documentation for the Percentile line.
Best Regards,
Liu Yang
