This seems to be a bug. In the image below, I am already using a custom label for the line but it still shows the actual line value.

The moment we add actual column to legend, Each of the distinct values is considered as a separate series.
You're right. That's why even if i unchecked "show for this series" for each column legend value and activate data labels for my line only, the values are not showing my custom column
