Line Chart interaction with Slicer - FY Vs Previous Years

Hi,

I have a line visual with the following set up:

• X-Axis = Month Name
• Y-Axis = Total Pups Born (FYTD) measure
• Legend = FY (financial year)

This is the result I'm looking for:

So you'll see the cumulative number of puppies born each year with the current year building throughout the Financial Year.

I have a Slicer Visual on the report page with FY and Month Name in a Hierachy set up. I only want this Slicer Visual to show the most recent Financial Year. Doing this would mean I lose the previous Years, so I removed the interaction between the Slicer Visual and the Line Chart. 

However, I want the line for the current FY to adjust if the users chooses to remove a Month Name. But because the interaction has been removed, this doesn't happen.

There are other visuals on the page that should only show the current FY.

Any ideas how I can get the behaviour I'm looking for?

I've not had a chance to try this. I've just left it with the current action for now.

I'll try find some time in the coming months to revisit this.

Doing this would mean I lose the previous Years, so I removed the interaction between the Slicer Visual and the Line Chart.

Instead of removing the interaction you should use a disconnected table to feed your slicer.

Can you give me some more detail on how to do this?

Create a (calculated) table with the current FY dates.  In a hierarchy if you must.  Point your slicer to that table.

In your main visual use a measure to probe the selected value(s) of the slicer and render the lines accordingly.
