Line Chart - Forecast Value
- Anonymous2 years ago
Hi farriyajawed ,
Due to the design of power bi, the forecasting function is only available for line chart visual objects. Therefore, only existing data will be shown in the table.
In addition, we are introducing new forecasting features in Power View in Office 365. In Power View, you can now apply forecasting and postcasting when visualising and browsing data.Forecasting in Power View utilises the built-in forecasting predictive model, which uses exponential smoothing to automatically detect seasonality in the data to provide predictive results for a range of data. Explore the predicted results by adjusting the desired confidence intervals or adjusting outlier data to see how they affect the results.
More detailed information can be found at the link: Introducing new forecasting capabilities in Power View for Office 365 | Microsoft Power BI Blog | Microsoft Power BI.
If your Current Period does not refer to this, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Hey farriyajawed
You need to understand the issue
- Visual Forecasting: When you apply forecasting to a line graph, Power BI visually represents the forecast and its confidence intervals, but these values are calculated on-the-fly and may not be directly exposed in the "Show as table" feature.
- Table View: The "Show as table" feature typically shows the underlying data used to create the visual but not necessarily the forecast values generated by the visual.
