Line Break in Table Column Headers
Hi Experts!
Do I understand this correctly? In a Table Visual, there is no setting for the Vertical Alignment of Column Headers.
I have a Table Visual with Text Wrap On for the Column Headers, but Column Headers shorter than the width show up at the top which is very poor visual formatting. Come on Microsoft (although they have never been well-regarded for their visual acuity since the 80s).
One workaround I found is to shove a bunch of spaces in the front of the Column Name, but for some I got insert like several dozen. Plus I am worried how this will even render in the service.
So, is there a Vertical Alignment I just can't find? Or, is there a line break I can insert instad of a space?

Thanks for the replies. I found an existing Idea that is at least five years old and a post where users rant and complain for several pages that this isn't supported by PBI and how Microsoft has refused to address it while trotting out lots of useless features.
2026 now and still the same ole song.
All the ideas to add leading spaces in PowerQuery, Calculated Column names, etc. are non-starters for me. I refuse to hack my Data Model for PBI deficits.
I tried adding a line break when you rename the Column in the Build panel—Ctrl-Enter, Shift-Enter, Alt-Enter, every Alt code I could find—none of these work (please let me know if you somehow found a solution).
Instead, I shoved a bunch of spaces using Alt-0160, I haven't tested it in the Service yet.
If it doesn't work, then I guess I am back to turning them off and overlaying my own which is a huge hassle.
PowerBI is supposed to be simple and easy! This is EXACT OPPOSITE, and I imagine drives users away and wide adoption.

Yes, since vertical alignment for Table column headers is not currently supported in Power BI, the behaviour you are seeing with wrapped header text aligning to the top is expected today. Currently, there isn’t a setting available to vertically center or bottom align column headers in a Table visual.
As a workaround, some users insert manual line breaks into the column header text (for example, using Shift + Enter when renaming fields in Power Query or Enter Data). This can help distribute the text across multiple lines and make the header appear more balanced, although it does not provide true vertical centering. Increasing column header padding can also slightly improve spacing, but it does not change the alignment itself. Other approaches such as adding leading spaces or switching visuals are generally considered visual workarounds and may not render consistently, especially in the Power BI Service.

WishAskedSooner You can have carriage returns in the values in a column. In an Enter Data query you can use Shift-Enter to enter a carriage return. If you use those values for the columns in your matrix visual you will see the line breaks as part of the matrix columns.

Using line break in Power Qyeru doesn't work in the visual
