Likert scale graphs

Hi all,

I have a data base from a survey with more than 100 columns with Strongly disagree, agree, neutral, agree, strongly agree data for each column.

I need transport this result into graph on our powerBI dashboard. Everything is fine except for the ordering of the axis X of the graph. Is there any easy way to sort the axis X to display as Strongly disagree, agree, neutral, agree, strongly agree without creating a sorting column for each column of the table ?

Hi @Anonymous ,

In power bi desktop visual, the default is to sort by first letter for using text as legend. So creating a sorting column is a relatively straightforward way to achieve the requirements.

@v-yingjl i was trying to find a solution as i have more than 200 columns to sort, and wont be feasible to create one sort column for each one.

It's a while since I've attempted one of these Likert questions.  I think I remember that unpivotting the question columns is the way to go.

You should then be able to create a sorting dimension to customise the sort order.

Can you give a screenshot of the sample data and the chart that you have built?

I am trying to figure out a way to sort it without create a extra column qwith sorting index for each column.

were you able to sort the way you need? I created additional Sort coulmn but it is not working anyway.
