Lessor Payroll is Not Installed

The message is being raised by Business Central, not by Power BI - PBI Desktop is just surfacing the OData/SOAP error returned by the BC service. "Lessor Payroll" is a Danish payroll add-on by Lessor A/S that publishes its own pages and tables into BC. If any BC entity referenced by your dataset extends a Lessor object, the call fails with this exact text when the extension isn't installed.

 

Three things to check, in order:

1) In Power Query Advanced Editor, list the BC entities you're pulling (Employee, JobLedgerEntry, Vendor, etc.). The error usually comes from one specific entity. Comment out that Source step, refresh, and the error should disappear - that confirms which one is the culprit.

2) If you can't tell which one it is, switch the connector temporarily from "Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central" to a direct OData call:

Source = OData.Feed("https://api.businesscentral.dynamics.com/v2.0/<tenant>/<env>/ODataV4/Company('YourCo')/<EntityName>")

This bypasses the navigator's auto-discovery and makes it easy to isolate the broken entity.

3) Ask your BC admin to open Extension Management in BC and either reinstall Lessor Payroll cleanly or fully uninstall it if it's a leftover from a previous deployment. Half-installed extensions are the usual root cause - the metadata says the extension exists but the runtime objects aren't registered, hence the "is not installed" message. On BC SaaS, Tenant Admin > Environment > Reinstall extension does the job.

 

Once that's done, your Power BI refresh works without any change to the .pbix.

 

Could you share which BC environment you're on (cloud SaaS vs on-prem) and which BC connector exactly (Microsoft built-in vs a third-party app)? That helps narrow it down.
