Legend colour issue on Combo chart

Hi. I have a combo chart and I can't get the legend colour for the column bars to match the bar colour. Any ideas? Thanks very much.

Hi @Florie ,

Yeah, that can happen sometimes with combo charts in Power BI — especially when you're mixing bar and line visuals.

Here’s a quick fix you can try:

  1. Click on the bar series in the chart.
  2. In the Format pane, go to Data colors and manually set the color for the bar series.
  3. Then scroll down to Legend and make sure the legend is picking up the correct series name and color.

If the legend still doesn’t match, try switching the bar series to a different axis (secondary vs primary) and then back — sometimes that refreshes the legend mapping.

Let me know if it’s still acting weird — happy to take a closer look!

Thanks so much. The 2nd idea worked - switching the bar series to a different axis and then back.

Awesome! Glad to hear that did the trick 🎉

That axis switch workaround has saved me a few times too — Power BI visuals can be a bit quirky sometimes 😅
