Latest PowerBI desktop version login stuck in a loop

Hi, friends.

I would like to request some help here.. Afer recent update of the Power BI desktop, my application is stuck in an infinite loop of asking for credentials and validating the login. But it never happens, I cant (for unknown reason) login to the application.

I downloaded from official MSFT page:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494

If I unistall the latest and install some older version (which still sits in my downloaded folder), I can login on first attempt, I can access my workspaces, evrything just works.

But if I update to latest version I get stuck. I dont understand this and its driving me crazy.

What should I check? What can I do? Any ideas, please?

Sincerely yours,

doriel.

Hi @dorieldoriel ,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.

Thank you @FBergamaschi for the prompt response.

1.We have tried installing and signing and working fine for us, it might be intermittent issue

2.Try installing the latest version from Microsoft store

Please find the attached screenshot for your reference.

If you are still facing the issue, please let us know here.

Thank you.

I have installed the Store version and its the same.

The login does not work, there is just infinite "Please wait" message.

Has some patch been released?

Hi @dorieldoriel ,

I recommend submitting your SupportTicket through Microsoft's official SupportTicket channels, such as the below:

How to create a Fabric and Power BI Support ticket - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Thank you.

I created the ticket.. 2507290040003733

But @FBergamaschi states more users are having the same issue. That is why I came here to be supported by community! Creating Microsoft ticket seems like dodging my question.

So is there any issue affecting more users than me? Is it some sort of global issue or not?

Hi @dorieldoriel ,

Thank you for the update..!!

As support team is looking into it kindly wait until support team provides solution.

No reply from community, no reply from the ticket.. this "service" is very BS.

Yes, finally it has been fixed. Thanks for your effort, I appreciate.

Yes and I got another 5 questions/tasks to complete before I recieve ANY kind of troubleshooting. Seems like dodging the support request to me... no technical info just "we are looking into it"

so far I sent like 5 emails and posted few replies, but the SW is still nonfunctional.
