I've added a last refresh date & time to a report but it seems to be running an hour and 2 minutes behind???
while I'm fully aware that the time in the desktop app uses my local PC time and that the service will use the hosting servers local time... this issue isn't between desktop and service, it's between the refresh time shown in the workspace in the service and the actual report in the service... so both in the Power BI service, which i assume should have the same time zone and time
I;ve attached some images belwo to demonstrate this... as you can see the dataset is showing as refreshed at 10:45, but the report is showing as refreshed at 09:43
Now it is worth noting that our network system time seems to run two minutes ahaead and were are currently in BST, so an hour ahead, which all ties in with the hour and two minutes difference that we're seeing... but I woudln't expect to see this variance in two different places in the service, surely the report should show the same refresh time as the dataset
I've tried lots of different date/time formats, but they all show the same - Has anyone got any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks
Jim
try this function in Power Query / Blank query :
DateTimeZone.SwitchZone(DateTimeZone.LocalNow(),-6,0) and then convert that column to Table. The variable -6 can be changed based on the prefered Time Zone.
and let me know if that works
Hi arcejames
but the variance isn't between desktop and the service, it;s between the workspace and the report, both in the service

Hai @jimbob2
Create One blank query in power query using DateTime.LocalNow() and convert it to tables
here it is showing time as 16:20 in table aswell as my laptop down right corner

Hi AlanP514
That's exactly what I've done and it works fine in the PBIX in desktop, but It's when I post it to the service that It's laggin an hour and 2 minutes behind the refresh time against the dataset (also in the service)
For the time being I've actual added an hour and two minutes to the time, so that it reads correctly in the published report, but that's not a long term solution
Why does the refresh time in the report show differently to the dataset, when they're both in the service, so you would assume they're both using the same server time... I don't get it? and more importantly I don't know how to fix it?
Interestingly it's also showing different seconds too, so the time shown against the dataset, must be coming from a different place to the time shown in the report
Cheers
Jim
