GOAL

• Default view → Last 45 days (auto updates daily),Power BI to automatically filter to last 45 days from today when the report opens,

• User can still change date range manually via date slicer

• No “Default” / “Custom” button or slicer needed

If you change your date slicer to a 'relative date' slicer by going to the Format pane > Slicer Settings > Options (see below), you can set the default relative date to Last 45 Days. Once published, this will be your default view that will continue to update based on 'today'.

The user can still update this, or you can add a second date slicer with more specific date ranges if still needed. I don't quite understand when you say: No “Default” / “Custom” button or slicer needed, but you could always hide the relative date slicer if you don't want a user interacting with it.
