Key Influencers Visual

Hello,

I'm trying to use Hey Influencers to analyze # of absence days. I'm using the reason used for absenteeism and the name of the person in the "Explain by" section but I'm not getting results.

Is this the right visual for what I'm trying to do?

Thanks.

Hi @Pendragon ,

The key influencers visual helps you understand the factors that drive a metric you're interested in. It analyzes your data, ranks the factors that matter, and displays them as key influencers.

Have your scene been like this?

key influences.png

If so, this error occurs when you included fields in Explain by but no influencers were found.

  • You included the metric you were analyzing in both Analyze and Explain by. Remove it from Explain by.
  • Your explanatory fields have too many categories with few observations. This situation makes it hard for the visualization to determine which factors are influencers. It’s hard to generalize based on only a few observations. If you are analyzing a numeric field you may want to switch from Categorical Analysis to Continuous Analysis in the Formatting Pane under the Analysis card.
  • Your explanatory factors have enough observations to generalize, but the visualization didn't find any meaningful correlations to report.

If not or you have meet other error messages, you can refer this Microsoft document about considerations and troubleshootings in this visual: Create key influencers visualizations-considerations-and-troubleshooting

Hi,

Let's say I have a table with the number of day people are off work and I'm trying to find patterns (people, dates, reasons, etc.) that will help to reduce the absenteeism rate.

NameBegin Date# of DaysReason
AJan 14Unpaid leave
AFeb 14Unpaid leave
BFeb 1015Vacations
CFeb 275Sick
AMar 14Unpaid leave
