How do I update a pbix to the most recent monthly update without redoing the entire thing?
I have multiple reports on PBIService that I created and published in October 2021:
When I download the PBIx file off of the service, the version is October 2021. When I click updates available on the bottom right and download the newest update, my currently open PBIx does not update - but whenever I open a new PBIx file the version is December 2021.
Guidance would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi @ahabelow13 ,
The version number in the screenshot depends on the existing Power BI Desktop version installed on your computer. If you want to open the pbix file downloaded from Service and the version number on the screenshot shows the latest version, you can download the latest version of Power BI Desktop from the Download Center page and install it in advance. If you install as an app from the Microsoft Store, Windows downloads the latest version automatically in the background as soon as it's available, so your version will always be up to date.
Download Power BI Desktop directly
Install as app from the Microsoft Store
Best Regards
