KPI only considers last year
Hello,
I try to create a KPI but only the last year is considered.
In each year the material aluminium is produced in a specific amount:
In total 0,12 (12%) aluminium had been used.
Now I define a target of 0,15 (15%).
The KPI shows this:
It seems to only consider the year 2016.
Don't know why.
Thanks and Regards,
Chris

I think that's just how the KPI visual works: your performance is based on only the last period, and previous periods are shown only to indicate trend. For your purpose, maybe something like the Cards with States by SQLBI would be more appropriate. You can find that in the Custom Visual Gallery for PowerBI: https://app.powerbi.com/visuals/
Hope that helps!

Hi,
KPI visual shows the latest value as its “Indicator”. When you only have KPI displayed with so selection, it will only show last period value. This is default behavior.
If you want to show different KPI value for different year, you can create another visual and select different year to show its corresponding value.
For example, you can create another chart besides the KPI visual.
If you want to show KPI in 2015, you can just click 2015 in chart below.

Hi Alex,
thanks for the workaround.
But this would not work when I try to publish that via dashboards.

Hi,
I can’t reproduce your error. It works fine form my side.
What do you mean “doesn’t work ” when pinning to a dashboard? Does it throw any error message?

Hi,
This is the Nature of the KPI we can't do anything on this ...
Why not u go with custom KPI or other KPI.
Eg. Card with States by SQLBI , KPI Indicator
