KPI Trend Axis Meaning

Hi,

 

I'm new to PowerBI and I'm wondering what the trend axis in the background of my KPI indicates.

With my example it shows 2x downwards trends and then a steep incline but my data is just a single unit in a cell and is not tracking any trend as such.

I can't seem to find any explanation.

    The trend is created based on the period you put in the Trend Axis Bucket:

    Whatever measure you have put there will be evaluated for each point and it's filter context.
    For example I've put years so the value prsented is the last year but the trend shows all the values from the available years:
