July Power BI desktop update

Hello Team,

July Power BI Desktop version is not release as yet? My colleague's Power BI is updated with July version. We both have installed it through Windows Store.

When I open report which my collegaue updated, it is not opening .PBIX file, showing message "file is incompatible with my desktop (JUNE) version". Asking to install latest version which is of JUNE (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45331)

Hi v-shex,

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to solve Preview feature: Composite model issue by removing Many-to-Many relationship from my PBI database table.

Hi @Ayushi_Jain,

Please use download version of power bi to instead store version, it seems like service still not compatible with store version.

July features not means 'preview features', it means July version has released new features in pbix files so it not compatible with old version.

Hi @mr_101,

Current power bi desktop for windows version hasn't updated to July version, you can consider to use store version to open your report.

BTW, you can also use June version to open pbix file who created on July version, but it will lost some features released on July version.

I'm getting below issue while accessing July version updated .PBIX file. I have re-installed Power BI Desktop from Windows Store. There are certain things which I need to implement using desktop version. Even after disabling new feature from July version, I'm still getting issue. I'm also not able to publish file to web.
