Jan 2026 version - Azure maps conditional formatting
Hi cworthman ,
I wanted to follow up and see if you had a chance to review the information shared. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to reach out.
Thank you.
Hi v-tejrama,
I believe the only solution is for Microsoft to fix this issue (hopefully very soon). Otherwise I am continuing to fix all my Azure Maps manually, which is less than ideal.

Hello,
From what I see it looks like the Azure Maps conditional formatting issue in discussion was updated in the Feb. '26 version. This is great, but what I am seeing now is that in the Azure Maps conditional formatting in Power BI desktop is visualizing as expected, but if I want to update the conditional formatting I find that the actual selections haven't been saved (even though it still visualizes?) and I have to start all over again. Can this be confirmed by others?

Hi cworthman ,
Thank you for providing the additional information. The behavior you described aligns with what others have observed regarding the Azure Maps visual in recent versions of Microsoft Power BI Desktop. In some instances, conditional formatting previously set continues to display correctly in the visual, with colors and styling as expected. However, when accessing the conditional formatting settings in the format pane, the rule configuration does not appear to be retained, making it seem as though nothing was saved. As a result, the only option is to recreate the rule if modifications are needed.
This suggests that while the visual applies the stored formatting during rendering, the format pane does not restore the configuration for editing. Given that this issue has emerged following recent updates, it is likely related to changes in the Azure Maps visual rather than your report model or data. It may be beneficial for others in the community to confirm if they are experiencing the same issue, and if so, consider submitting feedback through the Power BI Issues or Feedback channel for further review by the product team.
Thank you.
