Hello,
My solution was to revert back to the November 2025 version and the conditional formatting was reinstated. Hopefully this bug gets resolved in a future version or fix! Thanks

After further testing with the Nov '25 version, the conditional formatting was lost once I published to my workspace (which is in the Jan '26 version). So the only solution to retain conditional formatting in the Azure map from a previous version will need to be a fix from Microsoft it appears.

Hi cworthman ,
We have replicated the behavior you described with Azure Maps conditional formatting in the January 2026 Power BI Desktop release, where existing rules do not persist after reopening the report or publishing it to the service. This appears to be a product issue, not related to report design or the data model.
The issue has been escalated to the product engineering team for further review. Currently, there is no confirmed resolution or timeline, but the team is actively investigating. If you notice this occurring across multiple reports or tenants, please share those details, as they may assist with the investigation. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and for your patience as we work on a solution.
Thank you.
