Item Names in Legend

Within a line graph am I able to change the name of the items that appear in the legend?? For example, in my report I put classification into the legend and I have dots for each item (2016_1, 2016_2, 2016_2, 2017_1). Is there any way I can change the names of these without changing the underlying data?

    You could create a table via an Enter Data query, for example, where you have distinct legend values with a secondary column as to what you want it to really say then create a relationship between this table and your fact table (one-to-many) and use this alternative column in your Legend. Or, create a calculated column in your fact table for this purpose.
