Issues with Power BI Desktop Optimized for Report Server - May 2020 Release (On-Premise)

Hello Microsoft,

I have been experiencing following issues with Power BI Desktop (x64) optimized for Power BI Report Server - May 2020 Release, On-Premise.  Please let know how I can fix these issues or there is going to be a hit-fix release that fixes these issues.

Other users, please let the forum know if you are also experiecning these (or any other) issues with this release of Power BI Desktop.

(1) The login prompt at the startup of Power BI Desktop (x64) is annoying. Last time it was experienced was September 2017 and a Microsoft employee provided a link to a new little version because probably there was no option/setting to turn that login prompt off.

The most annoying thing is that it does not go away if you click on X just once. You have click it infinite number of times to make it go away and minutes after you know what, it comes back again.

(2) Some custom visuals, even those provided by Microsoft on AppSource fail to render in Power BI Desktop, not talking about the portal. The visuals I have tried so far and do not render are, they all are PBI Certified:

2A) Chicklet Slicer
2B) Text Filter
2C) Sankey Diagram

Thanks and regards,

Jitendra Pandey

Hi @jitendrapandey ,

I can not reproduce your problem. Maybe you can try to turn off the option.

Or please create a support ticket.

I am not talking about the startup screen!

Hi @v-lionel-msft,

We are experiencing the same issue.

Please note that the persistent log-in screen appears AFTER a file is opened and seems to be linked to custom visuals.

We have already reported the issue here.

Thank you!

@jitendrapandey I would recommend to open a support ticket on support forum instead of posting it here. Just a recommendation.
