Issues with Matrix & Table Visual reset to default background on values

Hi everyone,

Is anyone else having issues with the "reset to default" for background colour in Values, for tables & matrix visuals?

I am trying to reset to default so that it becomes "no fill"/transparent. However, when I do so, it constantly switches back no matter what I try. It seems to be stuck in a weird banded row style (as it only ever works for either one of the background colour or alternate background colour.

Anyone know if this is a known bug since the latest March update? I did notice that there was an "update theme" notice recently in the customise theme area too.

Before you ask, my visuals are set to the Normal sytle type (I have tried resetting eveything, including style to default and back again). Also, my theme default is 100% transparency for visual backgrounds, as is the Effects > Background on the visuals themselves.

I've also tried pasting a table visual from another report, where this has worked (ie. all rows are transparent background), but it switches it straight away to the banded rows you can see above, and unable to change them again.

Any help or advice hugely appreciated!

Thank you! πŸ™‚

  • Hi danextian , thanks for your reply. It wasn't one of the existing themes, but one I have saved, however, I agree, after even more trial and error, it appears to definitely be a bug with the new themes/updating existing themes. Once I reverted this upgrade/feature back, the issue was resolved πŸ™‚

helen_brunyee95  -Seems strange. "Reset to default" is resetting to the "Style" selected for the Matrix.  Simply select "White" color for the alternate background.

      Hi gauthamboppana ,

Thanks for your reply, however, I think you've misunderstood, the issue is that it will not allow me to change it from a white background to transparent. I do not want the white alternate background. See video below or in OP:

This can happen if you select one of the existing theme. The color seems to be driven First-level elements, which is default and which unfortunately, if you change the color will also affect all other visuals

This one of the reasons why I didnt jump right away to to the new themes but instead just take inspiration from them.

  • Hi helen_brunyee95 ,

This is because "Default" style requires to have alternate background colors. It is an essential criterial for the style type. If you want to have transparent/no fill background it might be best to use Style = "None" in which you can define the style as you like.

Hi garvitgupta96 , thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, as mentioned in the OP, I already have set the style to "None" (along with back to default, and to normal again), with no success. It does appear to be a bug in the updated themes.
