Issue with format of the text

I am importing a column with numers as text in power bi.

For example I will import 123456 as text and making sure in Power query is remains text, but when I close and apply I see the data in the table for some reason 123456 converts as 123456.0 and the type remains as text.

Whereas I want it to mainain its format and remain as 123456.

Kindly help.

Thanks

@avinrosh

I can't reproduce your scene.

There are two ways to try:

The first:

1. Create calculated column.

Column 2 = LEFT('Sheet1'[column],6)

2. Result.

The second:

1. First convert it to Whole Number in Power query.

2. Convert it to Text in Power bi.

@avinrosh do you see data type is text and also format is set to text (which logically should be)
