Issue with Button Disappearing When Clicking on Map Visual
- 1 year ago
Hi PrabhuRajSamraj ,
To position the button inside the map visual, first place the button within the map's boundaries. Then, ensure the button is sent to the front so it remains visible and accessible above the map visual. Next, set the action for the button, such as creating a bookmark in your report that displays additional details or triggers a pop-up window when clicked. Once the bookmark is created, link it to the button's action settings to define the desired behavior. Afterward, adjust the map visual's interaction with the button by checking the Selection Pane (under View > Selection Pane) to ensure the button is listed at the top of the visual hierarchy. If the button is below the map in the list, it may be hidden behind the map. Finally, test the button’s visibility and functionality by clicking on a data point on the map to confirm that the button stays visible and the action, such as the bookmark is triggered as expected. If this post helps, then please consider Accepting as solution to help the other members find it more quickly, don't forget to give a "Kudos" – I’d truly appreciate it!

Thank you for the suggestion! I did try placing the button outside of the map visual as you recommended. However, I’m trying to keep the design as compact as possible for my dashboard.
The reason I initially placed the button inside the map visual is that it saves space. If I were to place it outside the visual, I would need to create a separate card with instructions to guide the user, which would take up additional space that I simply don’t have.
By keeping the button inside the visual, I can utilize a tooltip to inform the user, which doesn’t require any extra space and helps maintain a clean layout.
I’d appreciate any further suggestions or guidance on how to make this work seamlessly within the available space. Thanks again for your help!
