Issue using Power BI tile in PowerPoint

Hi there,

 

I have an issue using Power BI Tile in PowerPoint (or even Excel).

The Add-ins is shown under Insert\My Add-ins

but when I add it, a message appears saying: This Add-in could not be started. Close the dialog to ignore the problem or click "Restart" to try again.

Please note that when I insert the add-ins in PowerPoint Online; it works seamlessly with no issue. I tried to open the file which has been created in PowerPoint Online with Desktop PowerPoint and the same problem exist.

 

Any idea for resolving this much appreciated.

    Hi Anonymous,

    The add-in which you install on online only available on powerpoint online. If you want to use the created file local, you need to install this add-in on local office application.

      But I have downloaded the desktop version and it's not working.

        Hi Anonymous,

         

        You can refer to below article to install the power bi add in:

        Integrating Power BI Tiles into Office documents

         

        It works on my side.

         

        In addition, you can also check the add-in setting in powerpoint to ensure it has been enabled.
