Is there a way to open a report but pull from an old data set?

Hi,

I have a report that is scheduled to refresh daily from a data set that generates in an excel file. This seems to be working. I have a directory that contains the archived daily data sets. If a user opens a report and woud like to open an older data set that I have saved, is there a way to do that? If so, how could a user open an older dataset in the report?

I'm still holding my breath that someone will provide some kind of answer to this. Whether it is possible or not.
