Is there a File -> Download PBIX (preview) button/functionality in Power BI Report?

Hello,

The business requested we that they want to download a pbix report preview onto their local machine. They were wondering, similar to what exists in Power BI Service, if you access a report and click on 'File', there's a 'Download report (Preview)' button (see photo below)

Is there a button that has the same functionality in a Power BI report without already owning the pbix? They are accessing the report through an online application/platform built on Angular if that helps. They embed the report ID to the page.Capture.PNG

Hi danieljkim17,

It seems that you want to download report by button in Angular, right? But it seems that you use embed report in Angular which seems only show report, instead of containing tool bar. So I think you might beed to use API to export it. You could refer to Reports - Export Report  for details.

Hello,

so one of my customers did it in such a way that he put a Sharepoint/OneDrive link in a button (within the report) that leads to a PowerBI file that you can download.

Unfortunately I do not know another option.

If this post was helpful may I ask you to mark it as solution and give it a 'thumbs up'? This will also help others

Have a nice day!
