Is it possible to hide Values in a Matrix visualisation for a column when Rows are collapsed?

I have a matrix visualisation which organises products into categories, and lists some values against each product, per category.

The requirement is to display Category, Product SKU, Product Name, Product Metric 1, Product Metric 2, and then to expand the Categories to list the products under that category.

I have Category & SKU setup as Rows, and then (First) Product Name, Product Metric 1, & Product Metric 2 setup as Values. This is completely functional and delivers the expected results:

However, I have been asked to remove Product Name from the visual when the categories are collapsed, as this is confusing to users. So in the above examples, the Product Name "30032963" shouldn't show.

The totals for Product Metrics 1 & 2 make sense to display against collapsed categories, as these represent total values per category but as there are multiple products in most categories, having First or Last Product Name display gives the impression that the product metrics values are associated with the single product that displays in the Product Name Column.

Adding Product Name as a Row instead of a value makes little sense, as One SKU only ever refers to one product name, and all this achieves is adding in an additional click to expand out each SKU to reveal one individual entry with the product name, which isn't very user friendly:

I have suggested we remove either SKU or Product Name from the matrix visual and then use only one of these as a row entry, but this has been rejected - the report must show both SKU & Product Name.

Are there any config options I'm missing that achieve this, or any workarounds that people suggest?

@Datafish , I doubt as of now we can add a column on drill down. You can check custom visuals or you can check the option using bookmarks
