How to replace the data source from local to SHAREPOINT without losing the whole project? Is it possible to have a hybrid source of data for the project? Some from local others from sharepoint
I might not be in charge of this project the next month. Currently the data source is stored in my personal space, but I´ve been adviced that it would be better to change the source to a sharepoint acces, how can I achieve this?
Or even better, how can I work with the data that is managed by other users?
Solved! Go to Solution.
In Power Query Editor, select the query and edit the Source step rather than rebuilding it from scratch. That preserves all the downstream transformations you already built. Use Get Data, then SharePoint folder, paste the site URL like https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/yoursite, filter the resulting list to your file, and click Combine. As long as the file layout stays the same, every step after Source keeps working. For data managed by other users, ask them to put the file in a SharePoint document library you both have access to, then point your query at that location.
If this helped, a thumbs up and accepting the solution would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Shai Karmani

You can have some queries pulling from local files, others from SharePoint, SQL, Excel, APIs, or any other connector — all in the same model. Each query has its own independent source connection. There is no restriction on mixing source types. But the cleanest approach is to move all shared files to a SharePoint library or OneDrive for Business folder that both you and your successor have access to.
Hi! @SeñoritaScania
What I do in this scenario, I create a new query and connect that to my SharePoint and see if everything works as per the requirment, if it does, then I copy the m-code from Advanced Editor and then replace in the old query whereever it's required.
