Is dataset and reports splitting reversible?

Hi all,   as per subject and as recommended by several experts I have decided to split my dataset (say dataset.pbix) and my reports (say reports.pbix). Clearly reports.pbix is connected to dataset....
Need Help

    If it's just the one open the dataset file (or download it from the service. Open the report pbix next to it and then select all visuals on a page at a time and copy/paste. It should work.

     

    Failing that it's possible ALM toolkit might be able to able you but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes afraid so. Think you can group select all visuals on a page in one go, so it's not horrific.

This approach only works one report page at a time, have to make blank page for each report page, select all visuals in thin report page, paste to blank report page in dataset. 

Additionally, I recently found that this approach does not carry over visual interactions settings, e.g. if I have set one slicer to filter only one of several visuals, this information is lost - the slicer will filter all visuals.
