Is capacity required for Power BI embedded apps?
- Anonymous1 year ago
Hi Anonymous ,
Power BI embedded analytics requires a capacity (A, EM, P, or F SKU) to publish embedded Power BI content. The capacity ensures that the embedded content performs reliably and consistently.

Regarding your specific question about Pro and Premium per-user licenses:
Power BI Pro and Premium per-user (PPU) licenses do not come with reserved capacity. These licenses allow users to create, share, and consume content, but they do not provide the dedicated resources that a capacity subscription offers.
To remove the "free trial" banner from embedded content, you need to purchase a capacity (A, EM, P, or F SKU)4.
It seems that assigning your workspace the "Premium per-user" license resolved the issue temporarily, but for consistent performance and to avoid the trial banner, a dedicated capacity is required.Move your Power BI embedded analytics app to production - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
The following table provides a summary of features, the capacity they require, and the specific SKU that is needed for each one.
Hope those can help you.
