Interaction Issue Between Relative Date Slicer and Between Date Slicer

Hello Power BI Community,

I am experiencing an issue with the interaction between a Relative Date Slicer and a Between Date Slicer in my Power BI report. Here's the scenario:

Initial Setup:

  • I have two slicers in my report:
    1. A Relative Date Slicer (e.g., set to "Last One Month").
    2. A Between Date Slicer (e.g., showing a date range such as "01/11/2024 - 30/11/2024

Steps to Reproduce the Issue:

  1. Step 1: Use the Relative Date Slicer

    • I set the Relative Date Slicer to "Last One Month."
    • The Between Date Slicer automatically updates to show the corresponding "From" and "To" dates for the last month (e.g., 01/11/2024 - 30/11/2024).
  2. Step 2: Adjust the Between Date Slicer

    • I manually adjust the Between Date Slicer to a custom date range (e.g., 12/11/2024 - 23/12/2024).
    • At this stage:
      • The Relative Date Slicer still reflects "Last One Month."
      • The Between Date Slicer reflects the manually selected custom range.
  3. Step 3: Change the Relative Date Slicer

    • I change the Relative Date Slicer to a different time period, such as "Last Week."

Issue Observed:

  • After applying the new filter in the Relative Date Slicer, the Between Date Slicer does not display the correct "From" and "To" dates.
  • Instead of showing the correct dates for "Last Week" or retaining the manually selected custom range, the Between Date Slicer displays incorrect values.

here i have attached the video drive link for understanding the issue scenerio:

    Hi Anonymous ,

In Power BI Desktop itself Relative Date Slicer and Between Date Slicer are not linked.

If you want to create a link between the two, I think you can use Edit interactions.

Also you mentioned that Between Date Slicer doesn't change as much as you want it to after you select Weeks, this is because there is no granularity in Between Date Slicer to the Week measure.

    Best Regards
